As an online student you take on many responsibilities that you usually rely upon a teacher for in a brick and mortar classroom.   For example:

• Managing Time:  You create the schedule for timely completion of assignments.
• Providing Resources:  You access resources in the course that help in successful completion of assignments.
• Providing Individual Assistance:  Your teacher is there to help you, but you need to let your teacher know that you need help when you don't understand something.
